A light weight ocular prosthesis can thus promote patient comfort by allowing longer duration of wear. Conventional techniques are time consuming requiring a number of clinical and laboratory procedures. Each hollow prosthesis was significantly reduced in weight, one-third lighter than the original weight, with the exact size, shape, and volume of the existing solid prosthesis. This simple design significantly reduced the weight of these eyes and revolutionized these patients
